Nylon and Suede Construction Returns on the Nike Cortez “Midnight Navy”

Outside of a marquee collaboration with Sacai, the Nike Cortez didn’t live up to its full potential in 2022 amidst its 50th-anniversary celebration, Perhaps due in part to logistical delays. This year’s CLOT x Nike Cortez collection seems to be the catalyst, though, as the onslaught of general release is about to commence. One of those to come is this new Nike Cortez “Midnight Navy” which sees a return to classic nylon construct.

The simply-blocked release looks to nylon uppers of the titular hue, with tonal, dusty suede sitting atop its overlays. Tongues, laces, and liners follow suit, enabling bright whites of the leather Swoosh overlays and sole units to provide striking contractual visuals. A solid streak of navy hits the famous heel wedge, with chrome dubraes and classic Nike embroidery in the back rounding out the design.

Nike US has just announced a release date for the new Nike Cortez “Midnight Navy” for July 28, with pairs hitting Nike.com from 10 am ET for $90.
