The Swoosh’s running division has sure come a long way since the Nike Free Run 2, but despite the technological and comfort advancements, the silhouette is still held in high regard — likely due to its nostalgic appeal. It was, after all, a sneaker that literally everyone had, from the soccer moms to the gym junkies, to the runners and even those not at all interested in sports. Because of this widespread love, it was only going to be a matter of time before Nike reintroduced it back into the market, and at about the halfway point of 2021, they did. Since debuting in a duo of black and white options, the sneaker has surfaced in a handful of premium-tooled colorways, the next to do so is by far the most colorful of the lot, ditching it’s newfound elegance for something more closely aligned to its heritage.

Here, it’s a light blue mesh that anchors the pair, with suede overlays of teal engulfing the toe, midfoot, and heel. Beneath that is an under-cage of golden yellow which adds a summery feel, while pops of bright crimson red at the tongue and ankle Swoosh add some extra heat. The pair is then completed by bright white laces and soles, and liners, and outsole pods of jet black.

Though a release date did not accompany the official image set below, you should expect to see this colorful new Nike Free Run 2 hit select retailers in the coming weeks.
