Though the Free Run tooling is no longer at the top of Nike Running’s endeavors, it’s certainly not forgotten about. The revolutionary cushioning caused waves when it first landed over a decade ago, and with the start of a mini resurgence by way of the Free Run 2 and Free Run Trail in 2021, it appears that the second break is coming to shore. Following on from its “Happy Pineapple” pair, the latest proposition of the mad-flexible footwear has appeared in a an muted “Thunder Blue” arrangement.
Consistent with a handful of recent releases, this iteration of the Nike Free Run Trail forgoes its typical construction in favor of a dual mesh and suede construct. The former sits as the pair’s upper in Orange, whilst the latter encases the pair in suede its titular blue hue. Accents of cinnabar and canvas come crashing in across the Swoosh and pulls, and laces and soles to complete the design.
A release date for this Nike Free Run Trail “Thunder Blue” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com over the coming weeks.
