Nike Basketball is revisiting its breakthrough G.T. series with a clean reissue of the original G.T. Cut, arriving soon in a sleek “Black Chrome” colorway. Originally introduced as part of the brand’s Greater Than series, the G.T. Cut made an immediate impact with its low-profile design and performance-geared tech—and its return in 2025 adds another chapter to its legacy.
This “Black Chrome” edition sticks to a tonal palette built for stealth. The engineered mesh upper is done entirely in jet black, complemented by matching laces and midsoles. The standout detail is the lateral Swoosh, which gets a muted chrome finish that brings a hint of flash without overpowering the design. Additional iridescent detailing is applied to the eyestay and midfoot overlay, adding subtle depth to the monochrome look.
Designed for guards and agile forwards, the G.T. Cut continues to leverage Nike React cushioning and Air Zoom Strobel for quick responsiveness on the court. A TPU midfoot plate provides support and stability, while the aggressive outsole traction pattern ensures multidirectional control.
After newer iterations like the G.T. Cut 2 and Cut Academy began to dominate Nike’s basketball slate, the original G.T. Cut returns to remind hoopers why it set the bar so high in the first place. The 2025 retro brings back everything that worked the first time, now with a sharper visual execution.
Pairs of the Nike G.T. Cut “Black Chrome” are expected to release in Fall 2025 at select Nike Basketball retailers and Nike.com.
Stay tuned for official release dates and availability.
