Nike Celebrates Basketball in the NY Tri-State Area with This G.T. Cut 1

The Nike G.T. Cut 1 debuted in 2021, but it remains one of the brand's more beloved non-signature models.

Recently, the Nike Basketball team revealed a multi-colored edition of the sneaker that abandons its affinity for tonal or two-tone presentations. Instead, a vibrant mix of "Orange Pulse/Persian Violet/Bright Violet" hues animate everything from the engineered mesh upper to the multi-directional traction. Hoops models of the last two years have emerged in similar disparate finishes, but a detail behind the tongue of the newest pair reveals a dedication to the New York Tri-State Area: New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Long-considered an important talent pool for street-ballers and high school athletes alike, NYC and the surrounding area continues to put Nike products to the test across numerous leagues. A special emblem on the spine also references New York, hinting at other pairs either stamped with the same logo or styles specific to other important proving grounds for hoopers.
