Nike Basketball is slated to launch handfuls of colorways of the G.T. Future throughout 2026. The Wale-approved silhouette surfaced in new styles to close out its inaugural year, while promising others.
Having already surfaced in vibrant "Fire" and "Lightning," the Greater Than series proposal recently appeared in a "Hyper Pink/Black" makeover. The impending launch follows the same color-blocking as the aforementioned looks, creating a clear through-line to the Zoom Hyperflight from 2001. The punchy pink also evokes images of some of Nike Basketball's Sandra Kay Yow-dedicated releases. Coloquially known as "Think Pink," these offerings feature heavily-pink ensembles honoring all those who've suffered from cancer.
On March 4, Wale took to Instagram to share a video of him rapping and vibing to his song with Leon Thomas titled "Watching Us." In it, he's wearing a near-fluorescent pair of pink G.T. Futures. It turns out that the pair the Washingtonian wore was a pair dedicated to the DMV. The special-edition style is part of the Swoosh's "Unseen Hours" collection, which speaks to the dedication hoopers across major regions in the U.S. invest in their game even when no one's watching.
Check out the clip ahead as you wait for the "Hyper Pink" style to release via Nike.com by June.
