Although Ja Morant is surely getting some much-needed rest in the off-season, the Memphis Grizzlies star has tapped his Nike Basketball family to prep special footwear for the Elite Youth Basketball League.
Building on a tradition of signature athletes developing special releases for the youth-player tournament, Morant's popular Nike Ja 2 is the latest silhouette to join this year's commemorative roster. Abandoning the shades of red found on the "Tropical Punch" collaboration with Kool-Aid, the newly-surfaced "EYBL" pair features a drab yellow finish across most of the upper. Mid-foot panels and profile swooshes, however, deviate in eye-catching, shimmering tones, delivering a stunning aesthetic for the demand-grabbing spring-and-summer spectacle that is EYBL. The league's logo appears on the top-of-the-tongue, cementing the Swoosh's connection to the platform.
Enjoy an early-look at the Ja 2 "EYBL" below. Pairs should land via Nike.com before the tournament's mid-July final.
