Ja Morant is set to miss tonight's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, but the Memphis Grizzlies superstar continues to deliver heat with his Nike Basketball family.
The low-top Ja 2 signature model recently surfaced in an all-new "Soft Yellow/University Gold/Dusty Cactus/Obsidian" color scheme. The backstory (if there is one) to the pair hasn't been made public by any party involved, but the vibrant makeover fits right in with some of the Nike Ja series' animated offerings.
A sun-reminiscent "Soft Yellow" takes over the bulk of the sneaker, while shades of "University Gold" divvy the spotlight. The Zoom Air-assisted midsole foam deviates in an aquatic tone important to the storied Air Max line. The same color appears on the teeth shaped-lace dubrae, which could hint at the pair being inspired by dinosaurs and their jurassic era. Profile swooshes and inner lining keep things a lot more reserved than their surroundings, but contribute to the pair's overall look.
Enjoy official photos of Morant's latest Ja 2 below. Pairs have already begun popping up across Asia in the EP edition, which features a wider base and XDR rubber outsoles for enhanced performance on outdoor courts. A stateside Nike.com should take place throughout May for $120.
