After months of teasers, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s feature film on the birth of the Michael Jordan/Nike partnership is finally here.
Entitled “AIR: Courting a Legend,” the star-studded film harkens back to the early years of Nike, Inc. before they became the world-renowned leader in athletic footwear and apparel.
The reported absence of Micahel Jordan’s character from the film is outweighed by some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Matt Damon takes on the role of Sonny Vaccaro, who led Nike’s pursuit in signing Michael Jordan during his rookie years. His long-time friend Ben Affleck plays Nike co-founder Phil Knight. The living legend that is Viola Davis plays Michael’s mom Deloris, while Christ Tucker, Jason Bateman, Matthew Maher and Chris Messina are also featured
