The streetball circuit would never be the same after a young Kevin Durant hit the Rucker Park greentop back in 2011. Ths then Oklahoma star took to the court during hte NBA lockout and lit up the New York City night with a nasty 66-point showing that had the crowd in disarray. It is arguably the most notorious incident to ever hit the NYC streetball tournaments, and now, a decade on, Nike will be celebrating the event with this special-edition Nike KD 14 “Sunset”
The Nike KD 14 “Sunset” represents an all-day grind that the city’s hoopers put in to hone their game. And even though these city parks officially close at dusk, there’s still some runs going on well into the darkness. This KD 14, much like the Kyrie Low 4 “Sunrise”, features the fading colors of the sun against a grey asphalt base to represent the concrete floors and the metal gates that decorate these special hooping locales.
Currently, Nike SNKRS and Foot Locker note a July 22nd release date for the pair which will retail for $150. If you are planning on picking up a pair on the day, make sure you head to our dedicated Nike Release Dates Calendar to set yourself a reminder for the drop.
