Kevin Durant has consistently used his signature series to pay tribute to the influential women in his life. From the annual "Aunt Pearl" releases dedicated to his late Aunt Pearl to several models honoring his mother, Wanda, Durant's sneakers are a canvas for celebrating the matriarchal figures who have shaped him.
The Nike KD 16 continues this tradition, following the "B.A.D." theme introduced on the Nike KD 15, which paid heartfelt homage to Durant's grandmother, Barbara A. Davis, who sadly passed away in 2022.
In this next installment of the "B.A.D." series on his 16th signature shoe, we see a transition to a striking two-tone mesh upper. The darker violet hue extends from the upper to the tongue, laces, and inner lining. Contrasting with this deeper shade is a faint lilac tone that covers the nubuck full-length overlay and the 3D molded caging system, continuing down to the sole unit. While this release doesn't feature floral imagery like its predecessor, it maintains a sense of elegance with Durant's grandmother's initials elegantly rendered in cursive on the left tongue tab and both insoles.
Enjoy an official look at the pair below, and look for these to land at select Nike stockists and Nike.com on December 1st, 2023, for $160.
