Kevin Durant and his Nike Basketball family are linked together for life. As the Washington, D.C.-native readies to suit up for the Houston Rockets, his KD 19 silhouette has surfaced.
Shared with the internet by Sneaker Files, the news arrives as the Nike KD 18 finds its footing. A number of different Player-Exclusive (PE) makeovers have landed on the current model, building out its roster of styles before being replaced by one of the Nike KD line's more eyebrow-raising designs.
No member of Durant's camp or Swoosh's hoops division has disclosed details behind the impending launch, but the sneaker's "Bright Ceramic" look works in-tandem with a glossy synthetic upper, low-profile shape, and main zig-zag line on the profile to create a style reminiscent of the Hyperflight II from 2001. The widely-praised (and Wale co-signed) G.T. Future features a similar aesthetic, although its taller trim offers a different look and fit.
Inaugural offerings of the KD 19 will include "Gorge Green," "Photo Blue," "Field Purple," and "Hyper Pink" colors, another detail that strengthens the connection to the hoops model from the early aughts.
