The late Kobe Bryant's estate continues to honor his legacy with the team at Nike, Inc., relaunching old product, developing new items, and promoting the NBA legend's Mamba Mentality through different marketing campaigns. On the former-most front, the Nike Kobe 5 "Lower Merion Aces - Away" is expected to receive the Protro treatment during Spring 2026.
Reported by the duo of X user @brandon1an and Romanian outlet Sneaker Market, the news arrives after a long string of Nike Kobe products have surfaced. A collection inspired by the Los Angeles Dodgers has been teased ad nauseam, while other signature models from the Nike Basketball roster have emerged in numerous reissued styles.
The newly-surfaced report posits that the Kobe 5 dedicated to Bryant's Lower Merion alma mater, a high school in the Philadelphia suburb of Ardmore, will return with all the bells-and-whistles that made it a hit in 2010. Officially clad in a "Metallic Silver/White/Team Red" color scheme, the Protro is expected to include a number of performance-oriented tweaks to meet the needs of the modern game.
