If Nike knows anything, it’s how to deliver a themed collection. In recent times, it’s been Air Max and Nike Sportswear packs that have run rampant with thematic collections, but there was a time where Nike Basketball was doubling down on themes that crossed the Kobe, KD, and LeBron lines. For late 2021, Nike’s hoops division will return with a cross-athlete “Daughters Collection” that proudly represents the #GirlDad movement, inclusive of efforts from Paul George and Kyrie Irving. Here we focus on the Brooklyn Net’s effort who delivers a Nike Kyrie 7 “Azurie” that is dedicated to his five-year-old daughter.
Relying on a feminine pallete of light lilac, muted salmon, sherbert orange, and sail, Kyrie pair presents an immediate tribute to his little one at the heel, with embroidered AZ and floral elements at the heel. The latter returns again to the forefeet’s teeth, and across the entire of the pair’s purple base layer. That is then covered by a light lilac sheath, and popped with sherbert hits at the tongue KI logo and the profile Swooshes. Finally, the pair is completed by a flecked sail midsoles, forefoot Zoom Air clips in pink, and two lace options in sail and purple.
Nike also had plans to release a Kobe 6 Protro “Mamba Forever” (a tribute to the late Gigi Bryant), but that release has since been scrapped due to halted negotiations with the Kobe Bryant estate.
A release date for the Nike Kyrie 7 “Azurie” (Daughters Pack) has not yet been set, but pairs are expected to arrive soon on Nike.com and at select retailers for the usual $130 price point.. As always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
