WNBA Point God and now five-time Olympic Gold medalist Sue Bird is arguably the best ever female to hit the hardwood. Along with the 5 gold medals, she has 4 WNBA titles, is a 12x WNBA All-Star, 5x WNBA First Team selections, and is the league’s all-time assists leader. Her sneaker collection is impeccable, too — both on and off the court. The former has been helped along by Kyrie Irving of late, with the Brooklyn Net committing to “Keep Sue Fresh” with special PE colorways of his signature sneakers over the years. Now, following on from the late 2019 retail release of her Kyrie 5 PE comes the next, the Nike Kyrie 8 “Keep Sue Fresh”.
This time around, Sue’s shoes opt for an elegant mix of beige, jade, and gold, giving the pair a distinct Chinese flavor. There’s a mix of lightweight textiles, smooth and heavily-tumbled leathers, and textured sheaths that make up the release, most of which boasts a beige hue. Accents of Jade Green are splayed across the midfoot, liner, and heel, while gold gears the midsoles. Pops of bright white liven up the upper around the quarter and mudguard, before a handful of magenta embellishments — including the titular #KeepSueFresh insignia — complete the design.
Though a debut for this multi-color camo Nike Kyrie 8 “Keep Sue Fresh” is not yet known, the sneaker is currently set to debut in a white colorway come November 20. As for this option, we’ll have to wait a few more minutes for details. Update 02.25.22 Dick’s Sporting Goods has confirmed a release for the Nike Kyrie 8 “Keep Sue Fresh” for March 8th.
