The Nike LD-1000 had its biggest moment in recent memory thanks to a collaboration with Stüssy. After being dormant for more than 45 years, the sneaker's return marked an important moment in the Swoosh's footwear history. The last couple of years have seen a handful of original styles return in all their glory, but none have captured attention quite like the collab. A newly-surfaced pair, however, is sure to put the silhouette from 1977 on radars.
Officially clad in a "Sail/Multi-Color" presentation, the latest LD-1000 presumably celebrates Japan's Culture Day. A 24-hour public holiday commemorating and promoting culture, arts, and academic endeavor, Culture Day takes place annually on Nov. 3. Nike previously honored the date with a Blazer Low Platform covered in a furry makeover. Akin to its predecessor, the old school running model features fuzzy fabric throughout its upper, as well as insoles donning all-over prints.
Pastel tones animate different sections of the LD-1000, sharing real estate with embroidered snow flakes, checkerboard-patterned and pearl-trimmed profile swooshes, and spotted overlays at the heel. Furthermore, both left and right shoes arrive with a star-shaped figure attached to the laces, a detail that serves as a mascot for the project.
Enjoy official photos of the experimental LD-1000 ahead. Pairs should release across Asia via Nike.com and select retailers.
