Despite bombing out of the first round of the NBA Playoffs for the first time in his 18-year career, LeBron James is still considered one of the best to ever hit the hardwood — perhaps even the best. And while that discussion will remain up for debate for eternity, The King is proclaiming it so on his very own sneakers — and before you get into it, Mike did it, too (check the back tag on your Air Jordan 12s people!) Though he’s drawn criticism for proclaiming it, the Nike LeBron 18 “GOAT” shows no regard for the haters
The second installment in a series of self-proclaiming sneakers, the pair matches the first in reserved restraint, despite the bold titular proclamation. Here, barely-there gree glow knit uppers arrive unblemished, while accenting elements of a tonal, more saturated hue encase the pair at the sole and heel. Rich orange-red laces and tongue detail are the pair’s boldest visual queue, the latter along with the heel bootie, reading out countless accolades from the King’s 18-year career. Completing the design is a GOAT motif on the tongue and insole, a not-so-subtle nod to the King’s claim.
