First Looks // Nike LeBron 19 Low “Agimat”

Though it’s been a while since we’ve seen it, the Filipino-focused “Agimat” releases from LeBron James have been special pieces for collectors and hardcore fans alike. The King’s connection with his Filipino fanbase has been marked with special sneaker releases for almost a decade, usually alongside regional tours of James across the island nation, though that has obviously come to a halt once the COVID-19 pandemic kicked in. Now, it seems that distance truly does make the heart grow fonder, and James proclaims that he can’t wait to get back to Manila, literally saying as much on this new Nike LeBron 19 Low “Agimat” release for Summer 2022.

Ditching the blues and red seen on previous releases, this year’s effort looks to pure white — the nations’ other main color on their flag — with Agimat-inspired (charm) golds at the tongue lion decoration, forefoot and lateral Swooshes, and light flecking of the laces. The national pride is completed by pops of red and blue on the forefoot etching, with the right shoe reading ‘I look forward to returning to Manila again!!” And the left honors the nation’s unwavering passion for the game of basketball. All of this rests atop a classic icy rubber outsole underfoot to complete the design, with special pendant hangtags honoring both the King’s nickname, and the moniker of the sneaker.
