As one of the first LeBron sneakers to get a retro release, the Nike LeBron 3has seen sporadic releases over the past few years. Unlike his more popular models from the King’s back catalog, the model reappearance is not exclusively tied to its anniversary year, thus blessing fans of the old-school aesthetic consistent chances to cop. And after a long time between drinks, it reappears in an all-new barbershop-popped black proposition for fall 2022.
Fitting for the aggressive design, the murdered-out base of black gives the pair a tough exterior; its guard is only broken slightly by a handful of color breaks, namely the tricolor eye stays. Those three hues reappear on the insoles, perhaps as a nod to Ohio’s state flag, too, given the tonal 330 Akron area code on the instep. The other foot shows BBZ — representing his offspring Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri – making the shoe a little more personal than those before it. Joining the mix is a handful of matte silver eye stays, ankle Swooshes, and Zoom Air casing, and more subtly, a mix of materials including smooth leather, suede, and patent.
