Nike’s Mind 002 line is finally entering its Flyknit era.
After debuting through Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design collaboration earlier this year in stealthy black and grey colorways, the Nike Mind 002 Flyknit is now set to arrive in its first general release form with this new “Pure Platinum” edition landing on May 27.
The shift to Flyknit feels like a natural progression for the experimental silhouette. While the original Mind 002 leaned heavily into molded foam construction and futuristic minimalism, this updated build introduces a softer, more textile-driven execution that immediately recalls Nike’s Space Hippie lineage from the early 2020s. From the exposed stitchwork and fuzzy recycled Flyknit textures to the crater-like sculpted sole unit beneath, the pair channels the same sustainability-minded aesthetic that once defined Nike’s forward-thinking Space Hippie series.
The Nike Mind 002 Flyknit “Pure Platinum” keeps things light and airy through a mix of off-white, pale grey, and muted volt accents. Open-knit ventilation windows appear across the lateral sidewalls, while layered textile panels create a handcrafted look uncommon in Nike’s current lifestyle lineup. The oversized foam midsole remains intact from previous Mind 002 releases, now paired with protruding volt pods underfoot that further amplify the silhouette’s unconventional appearance.

Additional details include rope-style lacing, oversized tongue clips featuring tonal Swooshes, and exposed heel pull tabs that continue the shoe’s utilitarian edge. Inside, Nike’s ongoing “Department” branding returns on the insoles — another recurring detail tied to the Mind franchise.
The Nike Mind 002 Flyknit “Pure Platinum” releases globally on May 27 via Nike.com and select retailers for $145 USD.
