Available Now // The Nike MX-720-818 Gets a Militaristic Makeover
Fresh off the heels of its official debut yesterday, the MX-720-818 has just appeared in another timely take; a “Flight Jacket” theme that backs up two Air Force 1s previewed earlier this week.
The big Air bagged model, which has a name like some kind of weird underground government project, looks as futuristic as it sounds — but it does pay tribute to Nike’s Air Max heritage. Taking obvious inspiration from the Air Max 98 — the pair boasts a two-piece nylon upper, joined by a wavy seam running across its horizontal. It’s locked in by a full wrap-around mudguard, detailed here in grid prints, and is held in place by a signature Air Max 720 sole unit. The pair is then cross-stitched over and reps a medial oval overlay — a-la the OG 98 —and the pair is finished off with OTT details, including elongated tongue and heel pulls, both sporting big, bold branding hits, as well as MX-720-818 screened onto the lateral bubble in true aircraft fashion.
Take a peep at the fatigued-footwear below, and if you’re keen on the cop, pairs are tipped to arrive before 2019 closes out — but a release date is yet to be specified. Be sure to keep your eyes on our Nike Release Dates Calendar and our Twitter Feed for further updates!
