Maximally designed.
We’re almost through the fourth month of the year and we’re still not sure what direction Nike wants to take us on. Unlike adidas, who are strongly focusing on heritage-inspired modernized silhouettes like the Nite Jogger, Nike is dishing up a mix of new, old and combos of both. Ultra-futuristic options like the Air Max 720or React Element 55 play off the Swoosh’s retro range of Air Maxs perfectly, but all-new vintage-inspired models like the P-6000 throw a spanner in the works. It’s not like they’re bringing in any new tech to the throwback-themed sneakers, just straight 90s steez. And that’s good if you’re a fan of Seinfeld-era sneakers.
For the P-6000, Nike calls on design langue that harkens back to the mid-90s: full-length synthetic mesh underlays, metallic synthetic-leather overlays, and clunky sole units. The Swoosh is set to unleash four new color options, including two unique pairings of Tan/Luminous Green and Khaki/Mystic Green, and two back-to-basics options of Royal/White/Metallic Silver/Black and straight Black and White. Take a peep at all four pairs below, with some avialable now, and others set to arrive on Nike.com over the coming weeks.
