Nike is officially reintroducing All Conditions Gear, bringing ACG back into sharper focus as a standalone outdoor-performance pillar within the Swoosh ecosystem. After years of operating as a sub-current within Nike’s broader apparel and footwear output, ACG is now being positioned once again as a dedicated brand built specifically for trail running, hiking, and exploration.
At its core, ACG — short for All Conditions Gear — has always been about serving athletes who operate beyond the traditional boundaries of sport. The reintroduction leans into that original mission, but with a modern performance lens. Nike is framing ACG as the brand that will lead outdoor innovation globally, backed by a sharper product focus and deeper integration with trail communities.
Footwear sits at the center of this reset. The recently released ACG Ultrafly Trail signals where the brand is headed, pairing lightweight trail construction with race-ready intent. It’s joined by models like the ACG Zegama, which continues to anchor the line’s more rugged, long-distance pursuits. On the apparel side, pieces such as the Radical AirFlow racing top and Lava Loft down jacket highlight a renewed emphasis on technical layering and condition-specific solutions rather than lifestyle crossover.
One of the more significant structural changes is Nike Trail transitioning fully into ACG. This move consolidates Nike’s outdoor running expertise under one banner, allowing ACG to pull directly from the brand’s deep performance running history while maintaining its own identity. It also clarifies ACG’s role internally: not as an offshoot, but as the primary engine for Nike’s outdoor performance category.
Support for athletes and communities is another key pillar of the relaunch. ACG is expanding its All Conditions Racing Department, adding new elite trail runners from Japan, Korea, and the United States to an existing roster of 22 athletes. These runners play a practical role in shaping the future of the line, testing prototypes, providing feedback, and helping refine products under real-world conditions.
Beyond individual athletes, ACG is doubling down on trail culture itself. New partnerships with events like Broken Arrow Skyrace and Gorge Waterfalls, alongside continued support of races such as the Chongli 168 Ultra Trail, signal a commitment to independent trail running and grassroots competition rather than headline-driven sponsorships.
Perhaps the clearest sign of ACG’s renewed importance is the opening of its first standalone ACG Base Camp store in Beijing. Located in Taikoo Li Sanlitun, the space is positioned as more than retail — it’s meant to function as a physical expression of the brand’s philosophy, blending product, storytelling, and exploration culture in one place. Additional in-store activations at Nike locations globally are expected to follow.
From a broader perspective, this reintroduction feels less like a revival and more like a correction. As interest in trail running, outdoor training, and functional gear continues to grow, Nike is giving ACG the structure and autonomy it needs to operate with purpose again. Rather than chasing trends, the brand is returning ACG to what it does best: building serious gear for athletes who choose the wild over the gym.
