Where to Buy The Grateful Dead x Nike SB Dunk Lows

Hall of Fame rockers The Grateful Dead have long served as inspiration for more than just music. The band’s colorful and creative design aesthetic has transgressed the industry, migrating into art, streetwear and of course, sneakers. Most recently in footwear, the brand’s ethos hit a Three-Piece Vans collaboration at the start of last year, but many point to the “Three Bears” pack of SB Dunks from 2006 as their most defining influence on sneaker culture. Now, a mere 14 years later, the band’s colorful Bear character returns on this upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low “Grateful Dead Bears” release.
Similar in construction to 2006’s collection, the pair offers up a plush fur upper with suede overlays, but different in aesthetic, thanks to a bold one-color upper, matching midsoles and eye-popping royal blue accents. The Swoosh too is altered with a jagged finish to align with the character’s matted mane. It’s also interesting to note that it arrives with a stash pocket tongue, indicating a possible 4/20 release, although the pair is yet to receive an official release date.
