Nike SB’s “J-Pack” Powers on With Jordan-Inspired “Shadow” Dunk Low
Just having entered a new colored box era (purple, for those of you playing at home), the Nike SB Dunk will be delivering a bevy of new colorways. But, unlike the teal/black box era we just left, this period is seemingly more hyped, more in demand, and more relevant. Of course, people are putting this down to a few things; Travis Scott’s fixation with the Sandy Bodecker banger, as well as reissues of some throwback heat. Speaking of a throwback, the SB division is once again visiting the J-Pack theme, a series of Air Jordan 1-inspired colorways that migrate their way to the fat-tongued Dunk. The project first started back in 2005 when the silhouette surfaced in an Air Jordan 1 “Royal” colorway. Now, Nike’s Skateboard division will honor another Air Jordan 1 OG, the revered monochrome “Shadow” colorway.
While not a straight 1-for-1 rip, the pair’s inspiration is still glaringly obvious. Grey toes and Checks compliment the greyscale outsole, with crispy white midsoles also mimicking the OG. Black leather uppers are overlayed by nubucks, with complimentary black mesh tongues arriving stuffed-full of foam. Capping off the design is more hits of grey, arriving on the sock liner, tongue liner, laces, tongue tags, and heel embroidery.
These ultra-versatile SB Dunks are tipped to arrive at select Swoosh SB stores this Spring for $90. Take a look at the official images set below, and make sure that you’re following us on Twitter for further updates, including confirmed drop dates and store lists!
