Known for his deep appreciation of 1990s basketball and Swoosh history, Ishod Wair has infused his passion into designing his sophomore signature model, the Ishod 2. This upcoming sneaker pays homage to some of the most iconic running shoes in the industry, blending elements of skateboarding functionality with classic Nike Air Max DNA.
The SB Ishod 2 has been revealed in three distinct colorways, each showcasing a mix of features that cater to the needs of skaters. These include the herringbone traction for grip, mid-foot lock-down for stability, and breathable mesh for ventilation. While these features are expected to return in the Ishod 2, it's the shoe's versatility off the skateboard that is generating excitement among skate culture enthusiasts.
One of the standout features of the SB Ishod 2 is the visible Air Max unit, a rarity in Nike’s skateboarding footwear lineup. This inclusion appears to be a nod to the Air 180 unit found in the similarly named running shoe and the Air Force 180. The midsole housing the Air unit is more substantial than its predecessor, extending further into the upper and offering enhanced support.
Adding a personalized touch, Wair's last name is embroidered on the lace collar, and his first name is placed on the lateral side of the padded tongue. The insole sports a new graphic heavily inspired by the Air Max iconography of the 1990s, further solidifying the shoe's connection to Nike's rich heritage.
Skates and lovers of the early 00s era can anticipate the release of the white/red and white/green at select retailers on January 19th, 2024. The thrid white/orange colorway is not yet confirmed; A release date for all three on the SNKRS platform is yet to be announced.
