"Stefan Janoski" might not be a household name if you don't skate, but the 45-year-old is amongst the most successful signature athletes signed to the Swoosh. In 2009, his SB Zoom Janoski debuted to high-praise, prompting its return in 2023 as the OG+ variant.
The silhouette, which features a minimal design when compared to the skate shoes commonly seen across the industry, has quietly amassed a retro roster over the last two years. Ahead of summer, the SB Zoom Janoski OG+ has emerged in a special edition (SE) 'Black Pony Hair' makeover. The pair forgoes the no-frills suede construction signature to the shoe's earliest looks in favor of a lifestyle-focused faux hair that elevates the design. Hardware along the tongue, branding, and Achilles' heel panels also opt for a pitch-dark finish, with the most latter components indulging in leather.
Underfoot, the 16-year-old Nike SB design keeps its tooling's visuals intact, although the impending drop features a glossy 'Black' update. The reinforcement around the toe also delivers a carbon fiber-reminiscent aesthetic given its textured pattern and color. Herringbone-patterned traction deviates from the top-half with a magenta-like hue that reveals a rose graphic potentially nodding to the 'Digi-Floral' releases of the past.
