Nike Celebrates Basketball With "Game Day" Air Force 1

Another day, another Nike Air Force 1 drop is in the works.

Over the last year, the Swoosh has reimagined the "presidential" silhouette in a number of ensembles that harken back to what many consider its glory days: the early 2000s. In addition to reintroducing the sneaker's 2001 shape, the Oregon-based brand has put together special treatments that further cement Bruce Kilgore's design at the intersection of sport and style. The "Game Day" Air Force 1 is just the latest example of this.

Expected as part of a larger Nike Sportswear capsule, the newly-surfaced AF-1 sees an elevated finish. "Malachite"-colored leather bases and suede overlays appear throughout the shoe's upper, setting the stage for hits of "University Gold/Gum Medium Brown/Coconut Milk" tones. To those in-the-know, the "Game Day" pair's color-blocking is reminiscent of the mythical and irreverent Menthol 10s designed by Ari Saal Forman in 2006, but the style is rooted in vintage sports gear.

The Air Force 1 arrives with a basketball-shaped charm.
