Nike Tennis Readies for Wimbledon With Strawberry-Donning Footwear

The Championships at Wimbledon are scheduled from place from Monday, June 29, to Sunday, July 12. Although the game's top athletes are yet to showcase their talent to the world, Nike Tennis is already giving us a sneak peek at what it has in store for the London-based tournament.

Hypersmash and Hardcourt editions of the Vapor 12 tennis shoe have surfaced for the occasion. As with other commemorative capsules from the NIKE, Inc. family, the newly-surfaced duo sees color schemes inspired by the tournament. "Gorge Green" and "White" tones make up the bulk of each style, but hits of "University Gold" and "University Red" join the mix, nodding to tennis tradition at Wimbledon.

Each Nike Vapor 12 offering maintains its performance-first elements intact, ensuring participants during the summer competition are at their best. What's particularly playful about the duo (and additional items expected to surface soon) is the strawberry-donning hangtag included with both pairs. The cream-dipped fruit references a longstanding tradition at Wimbledon, which has been serving strawberries as the tournament's signature snack since 1877.
