Nike Football's Elite-level boots have cemented themselves at the 2026 World Cup™ thanks to the likes of Kylian Mbappé, Cristiano Ronaldo, and others, but there's one takedown, budget-friendly design that's also stepped up to the occasion: the Tiempo Ligera Pro.
Famously worn by Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk, the Nike Tiempo Ligera Pro is a less-expensive alternative to the Tiempo Maestro Elite, the model currently worn by both Germany's Jamal Musiala and Brazil's Matheus Cunha. Both silhouettes feature a widely-renowned TECHLEATHER material across the upper, delivering what some have said is an astonishingly softer alternative to natural kangaroo leather. The Swoosh's decision to include its innovative TECHLEATHER on the $150 model isn't common throughout the industry, but the move has paid off as it's won over countless fans.
Soon, the Tiempo Ligera Pro is set to win over more footballers and boot-enthusiasts alike thanks to a new "Metallic Mach Purple/Total Orange" color scheme that recreates the Tiempo Legend III Elite Nike released for the 2010 World Cup™ in South Africa.

Even if you didn't follow global football closely 16 years ago, you've likely seen the "Metallic Mach Purple/Total Orange" color scheme before. Its split nature emerged across the Swoosh's four different football boot franchises of the time—Mercurial, CTR360, Tiempo, and Total 90. As the brand's first thematic pack of footwear for a World Cup™, the silver-orange range delivered excitement to the pitch, accompanying ballers like England's Wayne Rooney and Spain's Andrés Iniesta as they wowed spectators with their play.
Now, the high-vis aesthetic is back on the $150 Tiempo Ligera Pro.
Like its muse, the budget-friendly style features a fold-over tongue (FT), differing from standard versions of the Tiempo Ligera Pro. TECHLEATHER panels mostly indulge in a "Metallic Mach Purple" finish, although vibrant orange elements animate the heel. Underfoot, the sole plate also favors a citrus makeover, creating a familiar look for the modern game.
Enjoy detailed photos of the 2010-inspired Ligera Pro football boot ahead. Pairs should become available via Nike.com before August ends. Turf versions could also appear with the same color scheme.
