Nike’s Foamposite Cleats Return in Bold “Game Royal” and “University Red” for 2026

Nike’s long-running tradition of translating its most iconic basketball designs into football-ready gear continues, this time expanding the Vaporposite line with two bold new makeups. Following the debut of the “Pearl” colorway on Thanksgiving — a direct tribute to the Air Foamposite One — the Swoosh is preparing fresh “University Red” and “Game Royal” editions for Fall 2026.

While official imagery has yet to surface, early mock-ups suggest both releases will stay true to the Vaporposite’s unmistakable shell-inspired upper. Much like the original “Pearl” cleat, these new pairs borrow heavily from the Foamposite’s sculpted lines, pairing a molded synthetic exterior with a black lace system, a high-cut collar, and oversized Swoosh branding along the lateral side.

The “University Red” option leans heavily into classic team colors, delivering a look that should resonate across high school, college, and pro programs alike. The “Game Royal” pair offers a similar formula, swapping out red for a rich royal blue finish that aligns with Nike’s decades-long footwear lineage. Both designs are expected to sit atop a lightweight football plate engineered for sharp cuts, acceleration, and multi-directional traction.

Though the images shown here are speculative, sources indicate the retail versions will arrive very close to the designs depicted — maintaining the Foamposite DNA that has now transitioned seamlessly from hardwood to turf.

A release for both the “University Red” and “Game Royal” Nike Vaporposite Pro Football Cleats is expected in Fall 2026 via Nike.com and select retailers.
