Nike's Vomero 5 Appears in A New 'Desert Khaki' Makeover

Nike Running's 15-year-old Vomero 5 is back at it again.

Originally designed for racking up mileage, the sneaker has found new life as a fashionable sneaker for those whom don't want to sacrifice comfort. A collaboration with Samuel Ross' A-COLD-WALL* in 2019 helped distance the model from its performance origins, with its latest retro run firmly positioning it as a lifestyle option.

Ahead of summer, the Nike Vomero 5 has emerged in a dozen makeovers that play with materials and color-blocking. Tonal 'Blue Tine' offerings have appeared alongside styles covered in fall-friendly 'Copper Moon.' The latest update to land on the Cushlon-cushioned silhouette sees 'Desert Khaki' share the spotlight with 'Light Orewood Brown' and 'Black' colors.

The bulk of the pair's upper indulges in a sand-like hue, with mesh base layers enjoying a lighter shade. TPU cages at the profiles deviate from their surroundings in reddish flair that also animates detailing on the tongue and traction zones underfoot. The remainder of the Nike Vomero offering is left to revel in a pitch-dark touch that helps make the shoe a compelling option for autumn.
