Nike has had a strong focus on early-90s footwear of late, with retro basketball being the hot-ticket category amongst nostalgic sneakerheads. Penny Hardaway’s footwear has continued its evergreen presence, whilst the Swoosh has also drip-fed a few of Scott Pippen’s More Uptempo. There’s been a strange absence from the 1992/93 NBA MVP in Charles Barkley, but that’s all about to change in a matter of weeks with Chuck’s OG Black/Purple Nike Air Max CB 94 coming to your way this Summer.
The Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette, known for its striking contrast, pops of purple and overall aggressive ethos, has just reappeared on Nike servers under a new style code from 2015’s reissue which indicates that it will be back very, very soon. Looking at the imagery below, you can expect it to arrive in true OG form, with its boldly-punctured suede overlays, perforated white leather uppers, and purple inner booties all resting atop its teeth-bearing sole units.
