It seems as if Scottie Pippen’s Olympic More Uptempo is, like the Olympic Games, is following a strict four-year schedule, with the sneaker once again touching down in 2020. It last hit shelves back in 2016 — also an Olympic year — and before that, you guessed it, in 2012.
Originally released back in 1996, the “Olympic” Air More Uptempo was worn by Scottie P and Charles Barkley during Team USA’s gold medal-winning effort of home soil in Atlanta. The sneaker features a nice navy blue nubuck upper with stark white “AIR” letting that extends to its midsole, wrapping the outsole and back up the other side, giving the release a vastly different aesthetic than other colorways from the period. Completing the patriotic pair are red embroidery on the tongue Swooshes, red Checks underfoot, and Pip’s Team USA #8 embroidered on the rear in gold.
Fresh pairs have already landed on Nike NZ, but neighboring Australia, Europe, Asia and those of us Stateside are yet to receive a confirmed release date — but they are expected to land very soon. For further updates on their release, make sure you’re tuned into our official Twitter account.
In related news, the OG Black/White More Uptempo will also be seeing a retro release in 2020!
