Nike Football's "Rip the Script" campaign has left fans of "the beautiful game" with plenty to talk about. Although the 6-minute spot will surely be dissected ad nauseam until the 2026 World Cup™ is over, those familiar with PAISABOYS have gotten fixated on a never-before-seen jersey worn by Mexico's Raúl Jiménez in the commercial.
Based in Los Angeles, PAISABOYS was founded in 2016 by Joey Barba and Javier Bandera, two children of Mexican immigrants. Over the last decade, the childhood friends and business partners have gained worldwide attention thanks to their bold aesthetics and unapologetic pride as Mexican-Americans. In recent memory, PAISABOYS has helped Nike Football celebrate the transcendental power of sport, customizing Total 90 jerseys for numerous Nike TOMA events in Mexico and L.A.
Some of PAISABOYS' most-recognizable designs have been flips on jerseys once worn by the Mexico national football team—namely the shirts made by ABA Sport and Garcis from the mid-to-late-1990s—so creating a green-colored football jersey for Nike is a no-brainer. What's interesting, however, is that Barba and Bandera previously worked on an official lifestyle-oriented capsule with the Federación Mexicana de Futbol (FMF), which gave them permission to place PAISABOYS branding alongside that of "La Selección."

By comparison, the Nike Football Jersey by PAISABOYS makes no direct reference to Mexico nor the national team. Instead, aggressive PAISABOYS logos are outlined with the country's green, white, and red colors. The remainder of the design, which seems to be based off of the DRI-FIT Park VIII Jersey, sees a green gradient that sees a lighter shade create barbed wire-like stripes on both lower-halves of the shirt, shoulder, and sleeves.
The back features "Raúl" nameplate and the number 9, honoring the Mexican forward, who's been signed to Nike since around 2013. As the Mexico national team's third all-time top goalscorer, Jiménez will play an important role in his squad during the World Cup™.
Matching shorts and socks have been designed by Barba and Bandera, although the Swoosh hasn't confirmed if these items are releasing alongside the shirt.
Enjoy images of the Mexico-inspired jersey by PAISABOYS ahead. A limited number of units will release via Nike.com in Mexico and the U.S. soon.
