Pass~Port x Nike SB Dunk High Expecting March 5th Release

Deeply ingrained in Australia’s blue-collar society, the humble work boot is as iconic to the nation as a XXXX beer, Vegemite, and Steve Irwin. On the skate scene, it’s Sydney’s Pass~Port that rises above the rest, with their ever-growing international presence becoming an Aussie identity as strong as the others. So it’s no wonder that the label has linked up for a special-edition Pass~Port x Nike SB Dunk High “Workboot” — a pairing that channels the inner Aussie of the label with its roots in the global industry.

First looks at the sample pair via @teddyssole shoes a sneaker more invested in the utilitarian aesthetic than boot-inspired sneakers past, with more elements than the typical rope laces and metallic eyestays present. Tones of green suede and gold ripstop are undoubtedly Australian influenced, with the national colors splayed across the Ripper, tongue, and pulls. The latter depicts a helping hand motif, which itself is a characteristic of Australian mateship — i.e., swinging a shovel for a mate in payment of ice-cold beers. In fact, there’s an old mate embroidered on the lateral ankle, Akubra on head, swinging a Swoosh-shaped shovel in ode. Black midsoles are fitted with boot-staple golden stitchwork, while muddles outsoles appear to mimic the oft-seen dirt clumps found on the soles of workboots. The pair is then completed by co-branded suede tongue patches and insoles, and likely special packing, too.
