Four pairs—"Club Gold," "Game Royal," "Orange Frost," "Cyber"—will release via North American retailers, at city-specific pop-ups, or the Nike SNKRS platform beginning on Friday, Sept. 26. The roll-out for Patta's Air Max Dn8 project falls under the Get Familiar banner, which aims to highlight cultural movers across different cities. Campaign photography for the brand's Los Angeles-hosted activations was taken by Shaniqwa Jarvis.
ORIGINAL STORY Patta has been having an eventful year. In addition to its solo efforts, the Amsterdam-based institution has teamed up with some of the most important people and brands at the intersection of fashion, sport, music, and culture, delivering products and initiatives that are authentic, inspiring, and necessary. One such partner with which Edson Sabajo and Guillaume "Gee" Schmidt have worked on multiple times in the last seven months is Nike, and it doesn't seem like their collaborative efforts are done just yet.Earlier today, Sabajo took to Instagram to unveil a Patta x Air Max Dn8 project, the third co-branded collaboration between the two longtime partners. The multi-hyphenate didn't reveal a backstory with his initial teaser, but the pair features a number of details surely rooted in some elaborate narrative or concept.
Black-colored patent leather and nubuck-looking panels come together across the Air Max sneaker's upper, with the former material covering the bulk of the top-half. Profiles are linked with white contrast stitching and mesh sections, "extending" onto the Dynamic Air bubble across the sole unit for a bold look. Lace loops deviate in a rich royal blue, while rope laces don a two-tone finish that matches the majority of the Dn8. Lastly, Patta-branded metal carabiners appear on the laces, potentially hinting at the pair's inspiration.
Stay tuned for firm Nike.com release details and official photos of the Air Max Dn8 by Patta. More information should surface as the end of summer approaches.
