How to Buy the Social Status x Nike Dunk “Free Lunch”

East-Coast retailers and notorious collaborators Social Status is serving up a duo of delicious donut-theme Dunks for the Summer — and they look good enough to eat. Revealed in two color options, the Social Status x Nike Dunk Low collection features two dessert-themed takes on the low-cut classic, and they are set to arrive in vintage-style boxing complete with throwback play-at-home mazes, color-in charts, and calendars that harken back to the golden era.

Both sneakers are set in donut batter bases of light tan, with two distinct flavors filtering through. One comes overlayed with berry hues of strawberry velour at the toe, and matching material at the collar and eyestay in a barely-there pink. Jammier hues of red hit the rear leather overlay, tongue, and rear embroidery, all of which rests above coconut milk and chocolate sole units. The second option, a creamy chocolate concoction, layers its off-white velour base with leather overlays of milk and dark chocolate. Both pairs come complete with ingredient indentations on the instead (Nike and Social Status co-branding), rope laces, retro-inspired tongue tags, and freshly-glazed protruding Checks that mimic a donut top’s icing. The only thing that’s missing is the sprinkles.

Update // Pairs have been said to be influenced by community free lunches given to kids in the Summertime, specifically those located in underserved communities.

Update // Official images of the Social Status Nike Dunk collection has landed in adults sizing — but there’s a twist. The full-sized options will arrive on the silhouette’s mid-cut design, while the kids received the previously-previewed Lows. Update // Social Status has announced that their “Free Lunch” Dunks will release in September. Kicking things off will be the “Chocolate Milk” colorway on September 4th in-store and September 18th on SNRKS, followed by an in-store release of the “Strawberry Milk” on September 18th.

Update // For a chance at a pair of the “Strawberry Milk” Social Status x Nike Dunks interested customers will need to enter the draw by setting up an appointment on the Social Status website. The list of eligible store locations for an in-store government I.D. and size entry confirmation check include Social Status in:

• Pittsburgh (East Liberty and Downtown)
• Raleigh
• Greensboro
• Atlanta
• Houston
• Tampa

Only appointments made via the Social Status website will be honored. Additionally, entries are limited to one (1) per person, and all contestants must follow Social Status on Twitter and Instagram. (Attendees of the “FREE LUNCH” short film premiere have been automatically entered into the raffle.) Absolutely no walk-ins will be allowed. Confirmed entries do not guarantee access to the Nike Dunk Mid “Strawberry Milk.”
