Nike to Honor Swoosh-Man with Special G.T. Future Release

Swoosh-Man, Nike's oft-forgotten superhero mascot from 1996, is getting his very own G.T. Future sneaker—courtesy of Nike Basketball.

Shared by Sole Retriever, the news arrives after the Nike Sportswear division has dedicated several product launches to the defunct mascot. Graphic t-shirts and other items to reference Swoosh-Man have come and gone, but the Greater Than series silhouette has a chance to penetrate through to a wider audience, serving as the company's most cohesive effort yet in retelling the story of its acrobatic hero-mascot—an effort fit for its 30th anniversary.

According to information sourced by Elden Monitors, the Swoosh-Man-inspired G.T. Future basketball sneaker features a "Metallic Silver/Black/University Red" color scheme. Complete details of the pair's design remain under wraps.
