Are These “Celtics” UNDEFEATED x Nike Kobe 4 Protros Throwing it Back to Kobe’s Boston Tryout?

What could have been . . .

LA retailer and serial sneaker collaborators UNDEFEATED return once more on the Nike Kobe Protro 4 for another PE edition. After surfacing in a retro Nuggets and Suns colorway earlier this year, it has now surfaced in a Celtics-themed palate of Green and White.

The upper, which arrive entirely in iridescent green patent leather, rock branding hits in white, along with matching liners and sole units. The chunky mesh tongues are capped off with co-branded tongue tabs, while the aglets receive UNDEFEATED branding hits, too. The most intriguing details arrive at the heel, with glittery-iridescent UNDEFEATED branding, and the number 8 featured prominently on the collar. Now, considering no one at the Celtics currently wears #8 — it will be interesting to see who this pair is made for — or perhaps they were created as a tribute to the time that Kobe Bryant tried out for the Bean Town franchise back in 1996:

More images of the Celtic-themed UNDEFEATED x Nike Kobe 4 Protro have emerged, which show the sneaker in full detail, including dual heel branding of numbers 8 and 24. Still no word on a release date, but now with pairs arriving at overseas retailers, it’s looking likely for a wider release — so stay tuned for more!
