As we approach International Women’s Day on March 8th, we’re beginning to see a slew of celebratory footwear in honor of women around the world. The proposition to surface is this vibrant Nike Air Force 1, one which is said to be informed by the enduring spirit of Central American women.
Arriving in both vibrant and muted shades of pink, purple, magenta, and white, the pairs appear to be inspired by traditional Central American garb. Each panel features a hue distinct from those surrounding it, with the majority arriving in suede. Mute pink at the toe and quarter overlays are joined by magenta at the midfoot and toe, each pressed with heritage-inspired graphics and shapes. Smooth leathers are introduced at the Swoosh, eyelet, and rear overlays, the two formers in a bright white to match the midsole, the latter in a vibrant golden yellow. More hits of the warming hue can be found at the tongue liner and tag, before being capped off with more flashes of magenta at the tongue and outsole.
Strangely, pairs have already arrived in select regions of Asia, despite both the theme and its intended celebration day both miles off. As for a Stateside and wider global release, you can expect to learn more as we edge closer to March. Until then, enjoy a detailed look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates
