The humble Air Force 1 has become the perfect baseline for Nike’s in-house design team to really test their flair. From a seven-piece set of reimagined designs for and by women, to something as audacious as the recently-revealed “Black Tie-Dye” rendition, its versatility speaks volumes. Always down for experimentation, the next release turns the staple sneaker into something of a conversation starter, with striking pops of color working in unison with subtle tweaks to tonal materials for an incredible novelty effect.

The ladies-exclusive release, pictured above and below, starts out with a classic all-white base, but before too long the pair is transformed by-way-of Legend Blue-like outsoles, vibrant golden-yellow liners and flashes of pastel crimson on the ripstop-like tongue. But the latter isn’t the only noticeable material switch-up, with slatted mid panels and pre-cracked leather Swooshes and heel overlays. The latter is finished off with dual black and scribed branding; the script weaves its way in and out of the underlying logo that truly shows Nike’s attention to detail.
