PUMA Presents Portugal's Home Jersey for the 2026 World Cup™
PUMA shocked the football world when it announced itself as the official kit manufacturer for Cristiano Ronaldo and the rest of the Portugal Men's National Football Team. The oceanside country had been wearing Nike on-pitch from 1997 to 2024 and PUMA's deal put an end to the storied partnership.
Today, the German sportswear company has unveiled Portugal's Home jersey for the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ tournament, which kicks off on June 11, 2026 in Mexico. Prior to the event, Ronaldo, Vitinha, Bruno Fernandes, and company are expected to inaugurate the grand re-opening of the legendary Estadio Azteca (now, officially Estadio Banorte).
Although PUMA has yet to preview Portugal's Away shirts for the next World Cup™, a look at the country's Home kit design suggests the team's second jersey could draw inspiration from nature. References to ocean waves and other maritime elements land on the Home design, speaking to the waves Roberto Martínez's men want to make during the North American-hosted tournament. A wavy pattern appears throughout the shirt's red ULTRAWEAVE fabric. Green accents around the collar and sleeve cuffs indulge in Portugal's reach history in craftsmanship, boasting ornate knitting.
