Saucony's ProGrid Omni 9 "Glowaconstrictor" Celebrates the Year of the Snake
Despite being amongst the most celebrated running brands of all-time, Saucony has been enjoying newfound attention amongst lifestyle sneaker enthusiasts over the last two years. A combination of exciting collaborations and steady flow of inline offerings have made it a go-to option for folks who haven't run a mile since high school Physical Education classes.
The North American institution put on a show during the most recent Paris Fashion Week, tapping partners like Jae Tips to further champion Saucony through both product and community-oriented initiatives. The brand also previewed a special makeup of its ProGrid Omni 9 design. Dubbed Glowaconstrictor, the green faux-scale-donning sneaker draws inspiration from the current Year of the Snake Lunar Calendar.
Technical, running-informed components reprise their roles across the Saucony shoe, but overlays throughout the upper opt for a reptilian-like presentation. A rich green animates these panels, with golden accents joining the mix at the toe and tongue label. A purple iridescent finish takes on synthetic strips around the collar and on the medial sidewall, further playing into the boa constrictor reference. Underfoot, the stability-focused tooling keeps indulges in the upper's color palette, rounding out the inline, but elevated offering.
