Aging gracefully.

Like a fine wine, a lot of things in life get better with age. My old ass can attest to that, but one thing I didn’t expect to mature so quickly was Nike’s React Element 55, the little brother of the React Element 87.

It’s had a handful of great colorways of late, some of the best we’ve seen the sneaker dressed in. It’s resulted in the 55 having more interest and demand than ever before. And with even more clean colorways one the way, it seems that the Element 55 is too, getting better with age — even though it’s barely a year old.

Bold hues vacated, this all-new React Element 55 is draped in a more mature palette of tans and blacks. The grey-ish upper arrives with a subtle gradient weaved throughout its synthetic makeup, adding in visually-deceiving contrast. The tan lace stays, tongue and lining add a touch of class, with a complimentary-yet-classic black and white combo hitting the branding and sole unit.
