Anthony Edwards and his Minnesota Timberwolves have been decisively beating teams throughout their 2024-25 NBA Playoffs run. The guard has been doing so in his first signature sneaker with the Three Stripes, but his Anthony Edwards 2 silhouette is on the way.
Perhaps set to debut during the Western Conference Final or NBA Finals (if the Timberwolves make it), the AE 2 has been one of the industry's most-anticipated sequels yet. After being teased on an earnings call by the Three Stripes, Chief Executive Officer, the model has emerged in a number of unauthorized images over the last few months. Ahead of Edwards' Game 5 matchup against the Stephen Curry-less Golden State Warriors, the sneaker has emerged in a "Lucid Orange" look expected to release by February 2026's All-Star Weekend.
While more of a detailed manufacturer's image than e-commerce photography, a first-look at the unreleased AE 2 depicts a similar profile to the ever-popular Anthony Edwards 1. The herringbone-patterned outsole blends in with the stability structures present from toe-to-mid-foot, as well as around the spine. These components opt for varying "Silver Metallic" finishes, while the mixed-materials upper indulges in a vibrant "Lucid Orange" look. A small overlay at the forefoot interrupts the two-tone color story in white, while branding elements on the top-of-the-tongue and Achilles' heel round out the shoe in shimmering silver.
Stay tuned for firm Adidas.com release details and official product photography. The pair is expected in Men's and Big Kids' sizing.
