Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers have been having a stellar 2024-25 NBA season. And while their Playoffs run has yet to pan out, one thing's already certain: the team's number 45 has one of the most exciting signature sneakers launching by the end of the year.
Aptly-named the Adidas D.O.N. Issue #7, the design was officially unveiled during the last All-Star Weekend (alongside Damian Lillard's Dame X). Its visual layout isn't too far off from its immediate predecessor, which has helped the 28-year-old guard average 24 points this season. The zippered shroud provides improved containment while also keeping the otherwise sleek upper interesting.
Underfoot, Mitchell's next Adidas Basketball design features a tall mid-foot shank and full-length LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam (the same compound found on the Adizero Boston 13 marathon trainer). Segmented radial traction appears underneath the forefoot and heel, delivering reliable grip for the type of quick movements crucial to the NBA All-Star's game. Mitchell's Spida logo is etched onto the carbon fiber-reminiscent stiffening agent visible from the bottom, as well as placed on the top of the padded tongue and footbed.
Enjoy official photos of the D.O.N. Issue #7 in ying and yang-reminiscent "Footwear White" and "Core Black." Pairs should begin to land via Adidas.com by the start of the 2025-26 NBA season.
