Years before he became synonymous with footwear collaborations, Jerry Lorenzo vocalized his obsession with shape. His work with Nike, Inc. exhausted all the time possible to perfect proportions, and his Fear of God Athletics imprint backed by Adidas has been no different.

Ahead of the Holiday 2025 season, Lorenzo has prepped a modified edition of his Basketball II model, showcasing his meticulous, evolving approach to design. Aptly-named the Fear of God Athletics Basketball II.5, the silhouette serves as an evolution rather than a revolution.

The sole unit is near-identical to its immediate performance-oriented predecessor, although radial traction is accompanied by blurry Athletics text. The Basketball II.5's greatest differences arrive across the upper, which now features a zippered, semi-translucent shroud. Additional Athletics branding lands on the center of the zipper, while a plastic detail at the spine features an A logo. It seems the sneaker's internal structure has been modified to account for the added layer across the top as different indentations from the Basketball II are found from mid-foot to collar.

It's unclear whether the Basketball II.5 is as performance-ready as other products from the Fear of God Athletics family, but what's certain is that Lorenzo keeps working to provide compelling designs.

Enjoy official photos of the silhouette's "Cloud White" colorway ahead. Additional styles are likely to appear over the next few months. Expect the Basketball II.5 to release via Adidas.com for $200.
