Just as Jordan Brand do with their Air Jordan 1 “Chicago” — and Nike with their Air Max 90 “Infrared” — adidas continues to reinterpret their OG Forum Hi scheme. From pre-worn overhauls to Kerwin Frost’s terrifying collaboration, adidas has always anchored some of its best Forum releases around the silhouette’s original white and blue build. It’s next takes things up a notch again (but not quite as far as Kerwin) as it gives us an extreme close-up of the pair’s key accents, pixelating them in the process.
Aptly titled the adidas Forum Hi 84 “Close Up,” the pair (mostly) keeps things classic. You’ll not a staple white leather base, with altered sail accents at the midsole and lace sections that buy into the silhouette’s heritage appeal. A blue rubber outsole sits underfoot with the iconic pivot point painted in red, too. The pair receives a premium upgrade through leather liners. But it’s the pixelated Three Stripes, collars, and tongue tags that steal the show, essentially zooming in on the pair’s color accentuations to give us a contemporary interpretation on the classic hardwood sneaker.
