adidas Superstar II Gets a Los Angeles Spin with Qias Omar

adidas Originals is honoring Los Angeles with a fresh take on one of its most iconic sneakers, teaming up with content creator Qias Omar and SoCal retailer Private Sneakers to debut the LA Superstar II. Designed as a love letter to LA’s vintage and streetwear culture, the limited-edition sneaker reimagines the Superstar’s heritage through the lens of the city’s edge and energy.

The LA Superstar II reflects the grit and creativity of Los Angeles in every detail. Its faded black upper and cracked leather Three-Stripes capture the city’s raw, lived-in character, while graffiti-inspired insoles highlight its deep connection to streetwear. Added touches like a street-sign hangtag, palm tree pins from the adidas archives, a vintage t-shirt tongue tag, and star-printed laces give the shoe an unmistakable LA identity.

Apparel will accompany the drop, including two graphic tees featuring rock-inspired designs that channel the layered history of Los Angeles’ music and streetwear scenes. Together, the collection reinforces the Superstar’s role as both a fashion staple and a cultural statement.

To celebrate the release, Private Sneakers in Long Beach will host a one-of-a-kind “Sneaker Diner” pop-up on September 27, transforming the space into a playful fast-food–inspired setting where customers can “order” sneakers and apparel from a custom menu. A second activation will follow on October 4 at Vintage Land inside the Los Feliz Flea Market, in collaboration with LA-based retailer Shiekh. The event will take the form of a cultural block party, featuring lowriders, live airbrush and tooth gem art, DJs, food vendors, customization stations, and goods from emerging LA creatives.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Qias Omar shared: “The Superstar is one of the most legendary sneakers of all time, and being able to put my own spin on it is a dream come true. I moved to LA exactly 10 years ago to chase my dreams, and this city has completely changed my life. Designing a sneaker dedicated to Los Angeles is my way of saying thank you — to the city, the culture, and the community that has inspired and motivated me since day one.”

The adidas Originals x Qias Omar LA Superstar II will release early at Private Sneakers in Long Beach, CA on September 27, 2025, for $100, with a wider release through select Shiekh retail locations beginning October 4, 2025.
